The War Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver by BrigadierDarman The War Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver by BrigadierDarman
The package does say "The Other Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver", but I like War Doctor.

This was seen in the 50th anniversary special. I like this a lot, it has the look and functionality of the sonic screwdrivers seen in the classic series, but has a light like those of the revived series.

I got this at my nearest Hastings store, finally getting to use up a gift card I got for Christmas.

Urgh, I've been looking for that model for weeks! Looked in every shop, scoured every site, NOTHING. I eventually settled to ordering an 11th Doctor model from a local shop...and then found IT and a few other Screwdriver models in an Entertainer shop about two hours later. *sigh*

I dunno why I'm so interested in it. It's a bit...plain. Maybe it's that simplicity, it's no-nonsense style to go with a no-nonsense Doctor. Or maybe that it glows red and it looks badass for it.

Hope you get it sooner or later.

Yes, I like it because to me, it's like what bridges the classic series and the revised series. It has the classic look, but the light emitter seen with the newer ones.

Again, I've settled for the 11th Model instead. I know geek shop Forbidden Planet sells the War Doctor model, and there's one in a city I visit every Christmas with my family. So maybe I'll get it there; after all, their line of Sonic plushies have kinda dried up.

Well, that and I want to see if it fits in as a bayonet attachment.

In the meantime, have you by chance seen the rest of my Doctor Who stuff?

Clever. ;)

I have. Like the Make-Your-Own-Screwdriver, which is...kinda lame. It's just four versions of the same screwdriver. I'd like a service where you can get a one-of-a-kind, custom made Sonic Screwdriver. Or something like that.

Yeah, I'd thought it'd fit. Helps that everyone has the Tennant and Smith models, so thought I'd go for the War model because...well, very little people do. And maybe the 12th's Screwdriver when they bother to design a new one for him.

I know of some people who've done that, make custom built and functioning sonics. I, however, am not that talented.

Yeah...shame, really. I thought I had a cool concept for a Sonic Screwdriver. Or two.
